Day 89-Adding Adventure

Well so much for our Friday night rebellion, we decided to keep it simple and went to our favorite sushi place in the valley. But to keep things interesting we did check out a bar that we have been wanting to go to and it was pretty cool. Easy parking, no hassle. Not too crowded inside but not awkwardly empty. Very loungey. It’s called El Bar. Clever?
Decided to lay low the rest of the weekend.
In case you were wondering still looking for the perfect side job…
I hope everyone’s day was full of adventure…’til tomorrow.

Day 88-Adding Adventure

I have to say living in Southern California with our gorgeous weather makes adventure so much more pleasant.   Went to the first DineLa Restaurant today, a Mediterranean restaurant called Mezze.  It was named by Los Angeles magazine as one of the top 10 new restaurants in Los Angeles.  It was actually very good, we did not have one bad thing.  Beet salad with haloumi-the croutons were fried cheese!! But somehow not heavy and greasy but light and delicious.  Hanger steak with freekeh (wheat rice…almost like my mom used to make), and lebne cheesecake.  We also added a sausage flatbread and brussel sprouts from the regular menu.  It was delicious.  I don’t even normally like brussel sprouts but it was done so well I kept eating it.  It had soujok (sausage) and cheese and yum.  The lebne cheesecake was light and airy and not too sweet, a perfect ending to the meal.  What made the dinner better, besides the fabulous company, were that the dishes were creative variations of common dishes.  Creativity in food can go very wrong since often concepts don’t translate well to taste…in this case, however, it was all right!

Tomorrow we will conquer a second restaurant, although we have not chosen the place and are being very rebellious in not having advanced reservations for a friday night….(dun dun dun! or rather dum dum dum!)

I hope everyone’s day was full of adventure… ’til tomorrow.

Day 87-Adding Adventure

Well I don’t know about you guys but I made my Monday manic and fun! I went to a strip club. Yes, you read that right! A friend was having her first night as a dancer and I went to support. It was fun!
There was some talented dancers. I am going to start practicing some of the moves I saw. It is interesting I observed the dancers, the different personalities. There was a sweet girl, there were some rude bitches and some I’m cool but don’t mess with me types. All in all it was a great way to make Monday interesting and adventurous!
I hope everyone’s day was full of adventure…’til ‘tomorrow.

Day 86-Adding Adventure

So the weekend has come to a close. Full of sand, sun, rain, football, and kids! Despite some rain at night, Santa Barbara was sunny and beautiful…

Got back from Santa Barbara last night, exhausted!  But oh those kids are cute.  Spent the Sunday watching 2 great football games.  And decompressing from the week/weekend.

Let’s make Monday really manic and do something crazy!  Something you wouldn’t normally do, especially on a monday!

With respect to culinary adventures, dineLa week has started and is through Thursday.  It is a great way to try different restaurants.  I am hoping to visit a few myself…hopefully we can make it happen.

I hope everyone’s day was full of adventure…’til tomorrow.

Day 85-Adding Adventure

So I am in Santa Barbara. Staying at the four seasons…however it is amazing how 2 toddlers can be so draining. It is going to be a long day tomorrow…good thing they are sooo cute! Adventurous? It will be tomorrow since it will be raining and playing outdoors will not be an option.
Really don’t understand why these rooms are so expensive. $500 a night in the winter…why??? It’s a decent room with an unusually large bathroom but seriously? Just sayin’
I hope everyone’s day was full of adventure…’til tomorrow.

Day 84-Adding Adventure

So we went to the Gift show and got to look at a lot of things we couldn’t buy.  Unfortunately the cash and carry options do not start until Friday and so we went the wrong day 😦  But it was a cool experience and we got to have  a nice lunch in downtown.

Then it was on to babysitting…so cute! I got dissed by a 2 year old, who told me I could not go to Disneyland for her birthday and then added that she was not sorry for saying that and making me sad!  Wow!

This weekend I am going to Santa Barbara for a medical conference. Why a medical conference  you ask?  I mean you are not a medical professional, to the contrary a legal one.  Well I am thinking of branching out and trying different things, and being a doctor does not seem so hard.  Pretty much just tell people what ever is ailing them is caused by stress and/or their diet.  Write a prescription, tell them to exercise and relax and bill hundreds of dollars.  HAHA, no but my best friend is one and she has a conference and wants me and a friend to come along and help babysit.  free room in Santa Barbara in the adventures of babysitting…too bad it will be raining on Saturday!

I hope everyone’s day was full of adventure…’til tomorrow.

Day 83-Adding Adventure

Tonight I watched Midnight in Paris and had a healthy dinner of salmon and quinoa. uplifting, cute movie and sensible yet delicious dinner :).
Tomorrow is the gift show and then babysitting…yay!
Wouldn’t it be amazing to go live in Paris for a few months. Just a few months, no one knows you and you can be and do anything! Sounds so…so much like not real life! It probably would end up being a disaster, passport will get stolen, language barrier outgrows its sweetness at week 2. Money runs out. Laws are different. Ok so Paris is out. It’s fun in theory and either way would make a fantastic adventure.
I hope everyone’s day was full of adventure…’til tomorrow.
